HSA is looking for talented dancers and performers interested excelling in salsa and to join its growing academy.

Auditions open for everyone. Dancers from various different backgrounds welcome.

Here is your once in a year opportunity to join Finland’s largest crossbody salsa dance school through special dance scholarship programs.

Join our fast track program to begin your training directly with one of our performing teams or one of our training teams.

Over 10,000€ worth of scholarships will be given to the winners of the auditions. Receive invitation to the HSA training courses, to teacher training programs, and to join HSA to its 2012 performing and training tours in London, San Francisco, Stockholm, Berlin…

Eligibility:

You are at least 18 years old.

Who should audition:

Anyone is welcome to audition as long as you meet the eligibility requirements. You do not have to be a former or current student of HSA to attend. This audition is open for dancers, also for current HSA students. You do not have to have salsa dance background in order to attend. The auditions are designed to evaluate your potential and talent as a dancer. Some experience in at least one of the following forms of dance is highly recommended (e.g. salsa, ballroom hip hop, modern, ballet, jazz, swing, afro-cuban, tango). The selected judging panel consists various respected dance professionals in many different dance fields in order to try to maintain as much impartiality as possible to all dancers attending the auditions. If you have passion and talent for dance consider auditioning.
Note: there are only limited number of dancers we can allow to participate in the auditions.

1st place (one male & one female winner)

- Scholarship to pay your dance training for the rest of the year 2012 at HSA (Estimated value of over 3000€)*
- Invitation to the HSA Performance Group
- Airfare paid to perform in Stockholm and Berlin*
- Invitation to represent Finland in Berlin, Germany
- Performance costumes paid for by HSA*
- Invitation to the HSA teacher training program*

2nd place (one male & one female winner)

- Scholarship to pay your intensive training for the next 9 months (Estimated value of over 900€)*
- Invitation to the HSA Performance Group or one of the other training teams*
- Invitation to represent Finland in Berlin, Germany
- Opportunity to also perform in Stockholm*
- Opportunities to attend HSA teacher training program*

3rd place (one male & one female winner)

- Invitation to the HSA Performance Group or one of the other training teams*
- Scholarship to pay your intensive training for the next 2 months (Estimated value of 200€)*
- Invitation to represent Finland in Berlin, Germany
- Opportunity to also perform in London, and Stockholm*
- Opportunities to attend the HSA teacher training program

4th place (one male & one female winner)

- Invitation to one of the HSA training teams*
- Scholarship to pay your intensive training from April – May (Estimated value of 200€)*

5th place (one male & one female winner)

- Invitation to one of the HSA training teams*
- Scholarship to pay your intensive training from April – May (Estimated value of 200€)*

Other participants will receive a suggestion as to which HSA training teams or lesson programs
would be a best start for them in our HSA program.

What you should expect from the auditions:

The audition will last approximately from 1pm to 8pm. In the first couple of hours, you will be taught a short individual dance/salsa choreography which you will then perform in small groups in front of the judges. You will be dancing salsa individually only. There will not be any partner dancing and you do not need a partner to attend. The judges will evaluate you based on your ability to learn and perform a short choreography. Bring comfortable training clothing and dance shoes with you.

17.30 – 20.00 Audition time in front of the judges

22.00 – 23.00 Scores and winners announced at the Audition Party

About the scheduled training and performance trips for the year 2012*:

June 1st – 2nd – Salsa Performance in Stockholm, Sweden
June (Details to be announced) – Intensive Salsa Training trip to San Francisco with Salsamania
October 3rd – October 7th – Berlin Salsa Congress

What if you win:

After the auditions, if you will be selected as one of the winners you will then be invited into a meeting where you will be explained all of the details of our different trips and training programs and your scholarships. At this point we will then together make a plan for your development as well as go through in detail about all of your expectations.

Other details:

*The value of the training is evaluated based on the current HSA training course fees and all of the
of training courses that you would receive access to. If you will be selected as the winner of the competition, HSA will sponsor your costumes for you to use for your performances while you are a member of the school. If at any point choose to leave HSA, at that point you are responsible for returning the costumes back to HSA. For performance trips to Berlin and London HSA will promise to purchase roundtrip airfares to you, certain stipulations will apply. The performance and training trip schedule is tentative and HSA reserves the right to make changes to it.

HSA will also reserve the right to choose the training team and the time of your participation in the teams or instructor training programs based on your current level and the availability of the courses at the time. If you are a current HSA student and you become one of the winners, you will receive a gift voucher to pay for your next HSA course(s).

Koe-esiintymiset ovat kaikille avoimet! Tanssijat monista eri tanssitaustoista ovat erittäin tervetulleita!

HSA etsii lahjakkaita tanssijoita ja esiintyjiä, jotka ovat kiinnostuneita ja innostuneita kehittymään salsatanssijoina.

Tammikuussa 2012 on ensimmäinen vuosittainen mahdollisuutesi liittyä Suomen suurimpaan crossbody-tyylin salsakouluun. Tule koe-esiintymään ja voit saada mahdollisuuden osallistua koulun toimintaan tanssistipendien tuella.

Fast track -ohjelmamme kautta pääset treenaamaan suoraan koulun esiintyviin ryhmiin ja/tai treenaamaan koulun tavoitteellisimmissa treeniryhmissä.

Treenistipendejä jaetaan koe-esiintymisissä voittajille yli 10 000 euron arvosta. Osa voittajista valitaan myös esiintymis- ja treenikiertueille Lontooseen, San Franciscoon, Tukholmaan sekä Berliiniin.

Osallistumiskriteerit:

Olet täyttänyt 18 vuotta.

Kenen kannattaa tulla koe-esiintymiseen:

Koe-esiintymiset ovat avoinna kaikille tanssijoille; myös HSA:n nykyisille oppilaille. Sinun ei tarvitse olla HSA:n entinen tai nykyinen oppilas. Sinulla ei tarvitse olla salsatanssitaustaa osallistuaksesi. Koe-esiintymiset on suunniteltu mittaamaan potentiaaliasi tanssijana. Voittajat valitaan mm. uuden koreografian omaksumistaitojen, lahjakkuuden, potentiaalin ja nykyisten taitojen perusteella. On suotavaa, että koe-esiintymiseen osallistuvalla on kokemusta jostain tanssityylistä (esim. salsa, kilpatanssi, hip-hop, nykytanssi, baletti, jazz, swing, afro-kuubalaiset tanssit, tango jne.). Tuomaristossa istuvat arvostetut ammattilaiset eri tanssilajeista, jotta valinnat tehdään mahdollisimman tasavertaisesti kaikkia tanssijoita kohtaan. Kannustamme juuri sinua tulemaan mukaan yrittämään! Huom: Voimme kuitenkin ottaa vain rajallisen määrän tanssijoita koe-esiintymiseen.

Mitä voittajat saavat:

1. Ensimmäinen sija (yksi mies- ja yksi naisvoittaja)

- HSA-tanssistipendi, joka kattaa treenimaksusi koko loppuvuoden 2012 (arviolta arvo yli 3000 euroa)*
- Kutsu HSA:n showryhmiin
- Kutsu edustamaan Suomea Berliinissä
- Lentoliput esiintymiseen Berliinissä ja Tukholmassa
- Esiintymisasut HSA:n puolesta*
- Kutsu halutessasi myös HSA:n opettajakoulutusohjelmaan*

2. Toinen sija (yksi mies ja yksi nainen)

- HSA-tanssistipendi, joka kattaa treenimaksusi seuraavalle kuudelle (9) kuukaudelle (arviolta arvo yli 900 euroa)*
- Kutsu HSA:n showryhmiin tai treeniryhmiin*
- Kutsu edustamaan Suomea Berliinissä
- Mahdollisuus esiintyä ulkomailla esim. Tukholmassa
- Kutsu halutessasi myös HSA:n opettajakoulutusohjelmaan*

3. Kolmas sija (yksi mies ja yksi nainen)

- Kutsu HSA:n showryhmiin tai treeniryhmiin*
- HSA-tanssistipendi, joka kattaa treenimaksusi seuraavalle kahdelle (2) kuukaudelle (arviolta arvo yli 200 euroa)*
- Kutsu edustamaan Suomea Berliinissä
- Kutsu halutessasi myös HSA:n opettajakoulutusohjelmaan*

4. Neljäs sija (yksi mies ja yksi nainen)

- Kutsu HSA:n treeniryhmiin*
- HSA-tanssistipendi, joka kattaa treenimaksusi HSA:n treeniryhmiin
seuraavalle kahdelle (2) kuukaudelle (arviolta arvo yli 200 euroa)*

5. Viides sija (yksi mies ja yksi nainen)

- Kutsu HSA:n treeniryhmiin*
- HSA-tanssistipendi joka kattaa treenimaksusi HSA:n
treeniryhmiin seuraavalle kahdelle (2) kuukaudelle (arviolta arvo yli 200 euroa)*

Muut osallistujat saavat ehdoituksen siitä mistä HSA:n treeniryhmästä tai tunneista kannattaa
aloittaa.

Mitä voit odottaa koe-esiintymispäivänä:

Koe-esiintyminen kestää n. klo 13 – 20. Ensimmäisillä tunneilla opettelet lyhyen tanssi/salsakoreografian, jonka esität myöhemmin pienissä ryhmissä tuomareiden edessä. Koe-esiintymisessä ei ole paritanssiosuutta, etkä tarvitse tanssiparia voidaksesi osallistua. Tanssit ainoataan itsenäisesti. Ota mukaan rennot treenivaatteet ja tanssikengät.

Aikataulu:

14.00 – 15.00 – Rekisteröinti
15.00 – 17.00 – Koreografia opetus
17.00 – 17.30 – Tauko/välipala/harjoittelua
17.30 – 20.00 – Koe-esiintyminen tuomareiden edessä

22.00 – 23.00 – Tuloksien julkistaminen ja voittajien palkitseminen Audition bileissä

Esiintymis- ja treenimatkoista*:

1.–2.6.2012 – Salsaesiintymismatka Tukholmaan
Kesäkuu (ajankohta varmistuu myöhemmin) – Salsatreenimatka San Franciscoon
3–7.10. – Salsaesiintymismatka Berliiniin

Voittajat kutsutaan erilliseen tapaamiseen, jossa käydään yksityiskohtaisesti läpi kaikki matkoihin ja treenaukseen liittyvät asiat. Tapaamisessa teemme yhdessä suunnitelman treenitavoitteista, aikatauluista ja HSA:n sekä sinun sitoutumisesta kursseihin sekä treeniryhmien ohjelmiin.

Muuta huomioitavaa:

*Tanssistipendien arvioitu arvo perustuu HSA:n kurssien tämänhetkisiin hintoihin. Jos sinut valitaan voittajaksi, HSA sitoutuu sponsoroimaan esiintymisasusi sekä meno–paluulentomatkat Berliniin ja Lontooseen. Jos päätät erota koulun toiminnasta, tulee sinun palauttaa esiintymisasut HSA:lle. HSA pidättää oikeuden valita treeniryhmäsi ja osallistumisaikasi eri ryhmiin. Jos olet HSA:n nykyinen oppilas ja olet yksi voittajista, saat lahjakortin, joka oikeuttaa ilmaiseen kurssiin uusien kurssien alkaessa huhtikuussa (lahjakortissa määritellyn ajan mukaisesti). HSA pidättää oikeuden tehdä muutoksia esiintymis- ja treenimatka aikatauluun sekä rekisteröinti ehtoihin ja yksityiskohtiin.
